Review: 2016 Lexus CT200h


You won’t find too many small luxury hatchbacks with a hybrid engine out there, despite the growing number of hybrids in the marketplace. Lexus has been dominating this niche market for years.

The compact five-door Lexus CT200h is fuel-efficient, sporty, has a luxurious interior, and boasts a decent amount of cargo space to boot. It’s even one of the top-selling eco-friendly cars on the market.

So is the CT200h everything you’re looking for in a car? Here’s our review.

Safety Features

The CT200h isn’t just good on fuel. It’s also an incredibly safe car.

The 2016 CT200h has earned the Top Safety Pick+ rating with the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety with best-possible ratings on all crash tests.

Its safety features include airbags, 4-wheel ABS, remote anti-theft alarm system, emergency braking assist, daytime running lights, engine immobilizer, auto delay off headlamps, dusk sensing headlamps, turn signal mirrors, stability control, traction control, post-collision safety system, tire pressure monitoring, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Intuitive Park Assist and backup camera mounted in auto-dimming rearview mirror.


The CT200h has all the standard entertainment features.

It features Bluetooth® technology, voice-activated control, a six-speaker audio system, AM/FM stereo, satellite radio with three months of provided service, speed sensitive volume control, auxiliary input jack, and USB with external media control.

If that just isn’t enough, a variety of tech and entertainment upgrades are available with premium and F Sport packages, such as Lexus Display Audio.

New Styling

Not much has changed by way of styling with the 2016 model.

The CT200h comes with a leatherette interior, bucket front seats, cruise control, tilt and telescopic steering wheel, as well as a leather and simulated alloy steering wheel.

On the outside, you’ll find variable intermittent wipers, rear defogger, rear window wiper, power glass sunroof, rear spoiler, 17-inch alloy wheels, and 215/45R17 all-season tires.

New Technology

In terms of technology the 2016 CT200h comes with plenty of bells and whistles. The CT200h includes tachometer, trip computer, external temperature display, cruise control, electric power steering, dual zone climate control, turn signal in mirrors, Safety Connect telecommunications service, and Bluetooth® wireless data link for hands-free phone.

Optional features include heated front seats, a navigation system, an electronic parking aid camera, power sunroof/moonroof, real-time traffic information, DVD entertainment system, interior day/night electrochromic rearview mirror, adaptive cruise control, and universal garage door opener.
