If you’re shopping for a ride that can go from casually cruising the streets of Los Angeles to demolishing the competition on the race track, look no further than the RC-F.
This luxury performance coupe is so much more than great design, as the 2017 Lexus RC-F was made for driving. But there are many more reasons to love it, so check out our full review:
Under the hood, the RC-F is packing a 5.0-liter V8 engine that churns out 467 horses of power and 389 lb-ft of torque, mated to an 8-speed Sport Direct-Shift transmission – a powertrain that allows it to go from zero to 60 in 4.4 seconds. The transmission has paddle shifters for manual control, and an automatic mode for intelligent response. Designed from the pavement up, the RC-F also has available Torque Vectoring Differential (a first for Lexus) to give you more control, as well as Brembo brakes and available carbon fiber components when you choose the Performance Package. New this year, the RC-F also features F-Adaptive Variable Suspension with 30 levels of damping for precision response and control.
Standard features on the RC-F include a gauge cluster with multi-information display, Lexus Enform Service Connect, Siri Eyes Free, HD Radio with iTunes tagging, traffic and weather, SmartAccess key fob, Scout GPS Link navigation, HomeLink universal transmitter, and a 10-speaker Lexus Premium Sound System. Optional features include Lexus Enform Destinations, Enform App Suite, Mark Levinson Premium Sound, Remote Touchpad intuitive controls, heated and ventilated seats, and voice command with enhanced Bluetooth technology.
Designers took the essence of a racing coupe and made it distinctly Lexus, with a low-set spindle grille, signature F badging, LED headlights, an assertive hood vent, quad exhaust, and front cooling ducts. The 2017 RC-F also features an optional speed-activated rear wing, which responds to acceleration above 50 MPH to increase aerodynamics while keeping the coupe grounded. When not in use, the rear wing retreats into the trunk lid.
Inside, the RC-F has high-back sport seats, set low to the ground and providing support and comfort even at high speeds. It also has standard ambient lighting, illuminated door handles, aluminum pedals, a sport steering wheel, NuLuxe faux-leather seating, and personalized settings for comfort and convenience.
The 2017 Lexus RC-F earned perfect scores from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, making it a Top Safety Pick+ this year – something not many other performance cars can boast. Each model was built with a rigid body structure with crumple zones, Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management with Sport Mode for skid prevention, anti-lock brakes, backup camera with gridlines, Smart Stop technology, and eight airbags throughout the cabin. Optional safety features include windshield wiper deicer, dynamic radar cruise control, pre-collision automatic braking system, rain-sensing wipers, and headlight washers.
Starting at $64,165 MSRP.
