Review: 2017 Lexus GS F

Los Angeles Review of Lexus GS F

Once behind the wheel of the Lexus GS F, the streets of Los Angeles become your personal track as the performance sedan envelops drivers in the spirit of a sports car with all the perks of a luxury vehicle.

Add to this a full suite of safety, entertainment, and convenience technology, and the 2017 Lexus GS F becomes a juggernaut on the road. Here’s our full review:

The 2017 GS F is powered by a naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 engine mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission with manual shift control. This drivetrain makes 467 horsepower and 389 lb-ft of torque and goes from zero to 60 MPH in 4.5 seconds. Its torque vectoring differential gives you control even in high-speed situations, while the Brembo braking system lets you stop on a dime. The F-Adaptive Variable Suspension has 30 levels of damping for precise response and control, and the first-of-its-kind linear-solenoid monotube shocks give you the best ride quality and nimble cornering.

Styling and Interior

The GS F has a bold design, with an assertive front end and the Lexus signature spindle grille. Quadruple exhaust enhances your RPM while cooling ducts placed in the hood and fenders serve both form and function, adding to the GS F’s sporty style and letting the engine keep its cool. In the rear, a carbon fiber-wrapped spoiler keeps the center of gravity low for sure-footedness.

Inside, High-Back Sports Seats support the full body at high speeds and feature embossed F badges, unique stitching patterns, and leather upholstery. Aluminum pedals add to the styling and give you a better grip when in action. Ambient interior lighting, wood and aluminum accents, and a Dynamic Gauge Cluster with LCD add to the luxurious feel of the cabin.

The 2017 Lexus GS F has standard Navigation System with 12.3-inch display, Lexus Enform Destinations 24-hour response service, Enform App Suite, Enform Remote, and Enform Service Connect. These features ensure you always have what you need, whether it’s information about your destination or vehicle, help during emergencies, or access to your favorite music app. Additionally, the GS F has standard Siri Eyes Free, Voice Command, HD Radio with iTunes tagging, subscription-free Traffic and Weather, Bluetooth technology, Remote Touch controls, and USB input.

Optional features include a 17-speaker Mark Levinson Premium Surround Sound Audio System and full-color Heads-Up Display that projects key information on your windshield when you need it.

Each model of the 2017 Lexus GS has the Lexus Safety System+, which includes Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, High-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Intelligent High-Beam Headlamps, and Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist.
